1. ManageIT
2. RSM (Remote Support Manager)
3. REM (Remote Environment Manager)

ManageIT

The enhancements and new features in ManageIT, such as Remote Environment Manager™ and Remote Support Manager™, patch management and faster remote control, add advanced PC and server management capabilities and help you lower your service delivery costs.

Remote Management
Remote Support Manager – Real-time comprehensive Windows PC and server management, including enhanced remote control. Remote Support Manager enables you to do file transfers, stop and start services, manage printer, drive access, memory and registry files and support for agent chat. This is an optional component of ManageIT.

Remote Environment Manager – Remote Environment Manager enables you to create,
enforce and manage standardized PC environments, thus significantly reducing support costs. Supported by a patented validation engine to construct sophisticated conditions, you can manage every aspect of the user’s environment — without having to write a single line of scripting code. This is an optional component of ManageIT.

Interoperable Patch Management

Allows you to have a more complete offering and manage costs by incurring no additional licensing and operational costs. The grouping, monitoring and reporting interoperability with WSUS helps ensure that the patch management is working and that you can prove it through reporting.

ManageIT offers new patch management reports to help you better manage customer systems. Additionally, these reports will help simplify the challenges faced with ongoing management and troubleshooting of customer devices.

Most Comprehensive Platform and Operating System Support

ManageIT increases its lead in multiplatform support with the addition of Windows Vista and Intel vPro support.

Intel vPro support provides hardware-integrated remote management to the desktop. This functionality provides the ability to control systems remotely and enhances discovery of devices on the network. ManageIT enables you to start up, shut down or reboot Intel vPro-equipped PCs. Additionally, enhanced discovery and detailed asset collection information including BIOS, amount and location of memory, hard drive, CPU type and model number information is available. This functionality can potentially save you time and money in managing your customers.

Microsoft Windows Vista support allows you to offer complete coverage of your customers’ Vista-based computers.

Improve Asset Recovery

ManageIT improved asset discovery will help you better manage how devices are detected. Fewer duplicate devices will result in improved efficiencies in technician time, demonstrate value to your customers and simplify the challenges that arise with ongoing management and troubleshooting of customer devices.

Usability Improvements

ManageIT has two key usability improvements: Remote control is much faster now; and the updated user interface results in faster access and fewer clicks resulting in an improved overall user experience.

Faster Remote Control

Faster remote control allows technicians to respond more quickly. MSPs can realize more productivity and effectiveness from technician’s time. Time to access remote control has dropped to 30 - 60 seconds. In addition, the access time can be reduced further by a configurable setting in the administration console.

Improve Monitoring

ManageIT adds two enhancements that will improve its monitoring and notification capabilities.

Agent and probe status service provides an early warning system when PCs or servers stop reporting data. The service status indicator is triggered 10 and 20 minutes after a probe or server is disconnected. This provides advance warning for your technicians to resolve the problem sooner and without relying on notifications on stale, which take 30 minutes to trigger. This is especially useful on servers that have multiple services being monitored that will trigger multiple notifications.
Automatic Workstation Disconnect will automatically set a workstation to the disconnected state when the agent ceases to report in. This eliminates all of the stale-state notifications coming from workstations that have been turned off, and is a more accurate indication of the workstation’s state.

RSM (Remote Support Manager)

Remote Support Manager™, integrated in ManageIT, delivers advanced remote management capabilities to enable managed service providers to offer true remote PC and server support.

REM (Remote Environment Manager)

Remote Environment Manager™, an optional add-on to ManageIT, is a powerful desktop management tool that enables managed service providers to create, manage and enforce standardized environments for all PCs at a customer site.

Comprehensive, Standardized and Enforceable Configuration
Remote Environment Manager allows you to configure every aspect of the desktop at logon, logoff or at frequent intervals throughout the day. Aspects of the remote PC you can control include:
Windows firewall (XP SP2+)
Power Management
Mapped Drives
Add and remove printers
Manage shortcuts
Manage Outlooks profiles
Microsoft Office preferences
Registry and permissions management
Desktop file management
Active Directory (AD) environment standardization
Automatic script execution

Granular Management Selection
You can create multiple profiles that are applied based on patented validation logic that allows you to determine which users and computers receive which configuration settings. There are 25 built-in validation types, but if these do not meet your customers’ needs, a custom validation feature is also available.

USB and Port Security

Remote Environment Manager allows you to control and prevent access to USB and peripheral storage devices at the level of individual device types. The USB and Port Security option can control read and write access to USB ports, storage devices and communication devices on the desktop. This is an important feature for differentiation and especially for customers with regulatory requirements for data security.

Power Management

Remote Environment Manager can automatically shut down idle machines based on idle and time of day, helping cost-conscious
customers achieve all-important cost reductions through improved energy efficiency.

Acticve Directory Integration

Since Remote Environment Manager is fully integrated with AD, administrators can use AD variables in configurations – thus allowing a standard configuration profile to configure user-specific information. These profiles can then be used at multiple customer sites, dramatically lowering the number of unique configuration activities.

Remote Support Management
Ongoing management requires access and control of individual desktops from anywhere. Remote Support Manager™, included with Remote Environment Manager, works from any Java-enabled browser to give technicians the power to manage.
